Ron Paul is the only true right wing candidate that stands for everything the Republican party has stood for over the years. Minimalist gov't, abolishing the income tax, etc. Even though it seems like he has no chance in this election, he has captured the political interest of many young adults who will shape the direction of the country in the future.

His position on economics is the one that won my vote. While I love his commitment to civil liberties and many other things Ron Paul stands for he remains the only candidate that is taking the economic situation seriously. I am the generation now that is laboring to pay for social security benefits and high taxes while I watch those that barely or rarely work get more of a tax refund than they paid in the first place. I'm watching a nation that is several trillion dollars in debt spend like no tomorrow and the next wave of candidates (with the exception of Ron Paul) are all discussing how they are going to spend my money while driving us further into debt. The Dems are all working on socialized medicine while the Reps are all pushing for a prolonged war and no one is touching the crisis created by inflation other than Ron Paul.

As we, as a nation, sink deeper into recession, I believe that the message of Ron Paul is going to resonate with more and more people. He finished in second place in Nevada. People are going to wake up this morning, read about Ron Paul and wonder why they haven't heard about him before. So, yes, I believe he has a real chance in this election. Yesterday was just the beginning.

we are getting into very deep troule financially, and i've seen him speak very maturely and responsibly.. but sometimes i wonder whether him not being taken seriously is a reason he might not be able to 'rule' properly.

it sounds like a catch-22, but if he's not taken sieroulsy.. then how can the general public see his views seriously. i think lalot of this the media's fault, but it's a serious unfortunate short coming.

what's his stance on health care if you know it?

what i'd like to hear for once is a ron paul supporter talk maturely about ron pauls principles. its very fashionable to talk about "inflation" and "huge debt" and bitch and complain about it, but can an educated ron paul supporter explain to me what exactly ron paul will do about it? cause i think if we all heard his ideas, we'd really realize how much of a quack that guy is.

inflation, for example. whats he going to do? i know he has problem with the fed and how its run right now, so the right thing to do probably would try and clean that up and set things straight. but i dont think thats what he wants to do. i think he feels that the fed shouldnt even exist, that countries shouldnt have central banks to begin with, and that we should be using a gold standard instead of fiat money. its things like that that automatically exclude ron paul from any serious contention in the presidential race.
