Oh no! I used his middle name. I know that some people don't like their middle name but this is ridiculous. Michelle Obama said at a rally today that people are using "the fear bomb" by using Barack's middle name. "Fear bomb!" what about all the names conservatives and Republicans, yes there is a difference, are called fear mongering, racist, sexists, homophobes, and bigots. If Obama would have come out and said, yes this is my middle name and I am proud of it, the story would be over.
The problem with that would be it is not in there play book. Instead they are playing in to the baited trap. This maybe deliberate in order to gin up support for the wounded Obama.
Really, Obama get past the rhetoric and show the people the liberal you are trying to hide. But you cannot hide from the trillion dollar tax increases you want to lay on the American citizens.
There are many more reasons than Barack middle name to be concerned about. It is perfectly fine for the Obama's to belong to a church that leans toward blacks.
He joined Trinity United Church of Christ in 1988. A church with 10,000 members, and is more Afrocentric and politically active than most black congregations. Obama has distanced himself from the political views of its dominant figure, pastor Jeremiah Wright. Pastor Wright retired on Sunday, February 10th, 2008 after 36 years of service as the Senior Pastor of that congregation.
Obama states that he belongs to the church but does not agree with their political views or them honoring Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan has said too many controversial statements to list without printing a book.
Farrakhan recently endorsed Barack Obama for President, Obama had to be asked at the a Debate to reject Farrakhan's endorsement. Obama did "reject and denounce" the endorsement. He did look uncomfortable doing it though.
Maybe his uncomfortableness with this issue might come from the United Church of Christ that Obama attends. According to the Trinity United Church of Christ's web site the "Black value system" is their mission.
""Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System, written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee, chaired by the late Vallmer Jordan in 1981.
If a White, Mexican, Asian, Jewish, or Native American wrote this would the "black community" support it? I know that if this "value system" was written with the word "white" in place of "black" it would not be acceptable.
Know that the Democrat part was the party for slavery during the 1800's, remember Lincoln and the Civil War. And the Democrat party was against Civil Rights, more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act than did Democrats. Why does the party appeal to so many?
And as to the Jewish comments by Farrakhan, the Jewish attorneys marched and supported the black community throughout the civil rights movement. I do not follow the logic.
What about we are all people of God that should work TOGETHER to solve our divisions. I am not "pollyannish" some racism exists, certainly not like it was, but this "value system" would seem to cause further division.
Obama may not want his opponents to use his middle name because it is a Arabic name and then some may question his commitment to the U.S.A. Like I said, get over it by saying you have pride in your name, don't run from it.

Why does the media just today talk about Tony Rezco. Do they think his lead cannot be overcome? Do they know there are still 8 months to go! He will be defeated.
The Chicago papers have talked about this for months and only today the media "all of the sudden" finds his name, ridiculous!
