UPDATE: March 19, 2008 This is the actual transcript March 16, 2008 from the Chris Mattews Show web site:

"(Announcements)

MATTHEWS: Welcome back.

Michelle, TELL ME SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW.

Ms. COTTLE: All right. I have to say that what I've been disappointed at
has been the ugly successes of some of the racialization of this race we've
been talking about. Just in the last couple weeks or so, a lot more e-mail
and a lot more responses to stuff that I write about--the Obamas, Barack and
Michelle--has been coming in, and it has a kind of crazy racist flavor to it
that, if that's what's going on with this particular group of, you know,
nutters, I think the broader picture is probably also equally bad.

MATTHEWS: I think I hear the same."

Much different than the portrayal written by Samshed Frogs shamless self promotion below;

Smashed Frog thinks its cool that she got the friendly Liberal press agent to call her only commenter writing on her site derogatory terms.

Smashed frog posts:

""Michelle Cottle--Senior Editor of The New Republic--answered Chris Matthews' weekly toss-up--Tell me something I don't know--with an answer most of us already knew.

To paraphrase Cottle--

The racial overtones overshadowing last week's campaign coverage have brought out the nutters in full force.

That would help explain the comments posted here at If I'm President and over at Smashed Frog.

These aren't the typical wackos, but your basic hardcore nutters, espousing fear tactics of race and religion that so scary easy roll off their forked tongues, to spew out civil unrest like a pistachio shell caught between their teeth.

These folks are a hatred Chex Mix of a whole different level of insanity.""

I as DigitalNews replied:

"These folks are a hatred Chex Mix of a whole different level of insanity."

Obviously a great example of "journalism." Only one person writing for the "Folks", "hardcore nutters." I am the only commenter keeping truth alive on this blog site.

As I have written before, say something about the "messianic", medias word not mine, Obama campaign and get called a racist.

Now add "the hate nutters", "fear tactics of race and religion," "forked tongues," and "spew civil unrest."

Civil unrest is what the left lives on.

My "unrest" is the terminology from the pulpit, condoned by Barack Obama in hiring Rev Wright after knowing of his comments.

The Lords name is not to be used in vain at all. But especially close to all religions is the pulpit. Rev. wright used the Lords name in vain and curses from the pulpit. Breaking one of the ten commandments.

This was done in the name of political power. Using the Lords name in vain against your country is not following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

My points have been that these "sermons" would hurt, if not end, Barack Obamas Presidential campaign and maybe his political career. Nothing more. Certainly not hatred.

If this were a Republican candidate he/she would have been made to resign, amid protests from the like of Rev. Al Sharpton. And the coverage would be top billed all this week and into the general until that objective was reached."

Sunny of "Smashed frog writes:

"Ah, you're just mad because the rest of us caught on to the race-baiting right from the start. But you have the right to your own opinion--just like mine, it's far from journalism."

DigitalNews;

I will finish this on my site. No, you still don't get it. But why would a Democrat/Liberal get anything having to do with religion and culture. You have a Reverend that has taken the Lords name in vain against our country. Our country is more than 85% Christian and repels at the usage of the Lords name in vain. It is a commandment of God.

This controversy is about the behavior of Rev. Wright from his pulpit and the decision of the Obama campaign to hire him for their Presidential African American Religious Council. That was a political calculation that has backfired. Now the campaign and it supporters use the race card to try and scare away commentators.

This is not an attack or "race-batting." Instead this is a reaction to the words of Obama's friend, mentor, pastor, and campaign adviser, Rev. Jeremiah Wright that break commandments Christians are told to live by. And the judgment shown by Obama in putting the Rev. Wright on his campaign.

So why is it that Obama dumps the Rezco information out the same weekend of this Rev. Wright controvercy? Another political move to try and hide himself from the American voter.

The "rest of you" did not catch on to the "race batting", instead you try and create it by labeling someone with it. Say it enough and the people will believe it, is the mantra of the OLD MEDIA.

    Take a long look, readers. This is the kind of thinking that's been running our country for the last two Presidential terms. I'll let these words stand on their own....remember what your mom used to advise....

    Consider the source.

    The words that stand on their own are yours and the Great Reverend Wrights glorious vain words against the word of God and country.

    I must have hit a cord with the democrat/leftists for the Chris Matthews Show to feel they need to respond to little ole' me.

    Y'all know that these comments by Rev. Wright and the decision of the Obama campaign to hire him was a bad move. And after thinking about his comments prior to appointing him to a Religious Council shows that the Democrat/leftists in this country agree with him.

    The Democrat/Leftist will not stand up for what is right, calling out a Reverend for his abhorrent actions from his pulpit.

    But then why would we expect that Democrat/leftists would understand the Bible. Or the American people.

    Your words do not stand on their own. The update above shows the major differences.

    I usually watch this show missed it this last weekend, up all night taking care of a hurt dog, or I would have already known this.

    I would very much doubt your interpretation would be the same as mine. But most of the time I don't understand a thing you post--by the way, readers can make up their own minds over at my post Hate Nutters, where the video is--and has been--posted.

    The clip is pt 3: http://video.thechrismatthewsshow.com/player/?&&&& #8203; #8203; #8203; #8203; &&&&%u200B #8203; #8203; #8203; #8203; id=229701

    The transcript above is spot on. Your site is still not mentioned, unless you are part of her email over the last week.

    The accusation is race-batter, No Obama is the one trying to turn this into race. Rev. Wright's statements are the issue, not race.

    Obama,"I don't think MSNBC should be carrying those kind of hateful remarks that Don Imus made....he wouldn't be working for me."

    Chris Matthew 3/16/08 The Chris Matthews Show, "very agressive, angry speech by Jeremiah Wright. Very strong minded speech he made the point. But what do you think about what has come of it?"

    He made the point alright. Wright said much worse things than Imus, but those where just words.
